Family Law Solicitor Ashleigh Willoughby brings to our firm a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of customer relations and client care, and in the provision of legal advice and services including representation in Family Law disputes, Domestic Violence matters and Child Protection matters.
In 2012 Ashleigh completed a Dual Degree in Law and Arts (Sociology) at the University of New England. Ashleigh then undertook Practical Legal Training and qualified for a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2013 before being admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2014. Following her admission as a legal practitioner, Ashleigh commenced working as a junior Solicitor in Family Law and General Practice. Ashleigh has trained and worked in a variety of legal settings including boutique law firms, not-for-profit firms, and as part of a Free Legal Advice Clinic established by Sarah Cleeland Family Lawyers for clients struggling to access legal services.
Ashleigh joined Sarah Cleeland Family Lawyers in 2015 and has since practiced exclusively in the areas of Family Law, Domestic Violence and Child Protection. In her role as a Family Lawyer, Ashleigh has provided advice and representation to a diversity of clients on Brisbane’s North side with a personable, practical and outcome focussed approach.
Ashleigh is experienced in leading clients towards a resolution of their legal matter through an out of Court settlement. Ashleigh’s further experience as a Family Law litigator extends to providing representation and advocating for clients in Court proceedings where an out of Court settlement is not possible or appropriate.
Ashleigh has represented clients in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, Family Court of Australia, Magistrates Court and Children’s Court. She holds a particular interest in children’s matters and is experienced in protecting the interests of clients in complex Court proceedings where there are serious allegations of child abuse and matters involving other interested parties such as grandparents.
Through her qualifications in social science, Ashleigh understands the many associated challenges met by clients involved in Family Law matters. Ashleigh is committed to providing timely and cost effective services with a view to achieving sound and practical resolutions for clients.
